Project Summary

Melco Engineering were engaged by BMA to undertake the engineering design and certification, supply, manufacture, compliancing and commissioning of two (2) mobile Ammonium Nitrate Emulsion Storage Silo’s for the Saraji Mine Site.

The mobile ammonium nitrate emulsion storage silo solution allows the client to meet their emulsion capacity requirements across the full breadth of the multiple site locations.

The tanks included transport assembly (trailer and ancillary items), pneumatically powered diaphragm pumps, electrically powered pump panel, three-way pumping, bypass and valving system, level sensors and overflow prevention, access to silo inspection hatch and venting.

Melco Project managers worked closely with a large range of Melco’s market leading business partners to execute design and fabrication of the highest level suitable to the customised requirements of the client.

Throughout project execution, Melco complied with a large range of quality standard including but not limited to AS1554.1 GP, AS1554.1 SP, AS1554.6, client specifications and various surface treatment standards inclusive of AS4680:2006.

The Melco scope included design, fabrication, assembly, transport, delivery and site commissioning of the newly designed emulsion tanks and encompassed 6,000 labour hours over a five (5) month period.
