Project Summary

Melco Engineering were engaged by G & S Engineering as a sub-contractor to undertake the supply, manufacture and delivery of Stacker / Reclaimer SR5 Elevators and Walkways for the Abbot Point Coal Terminal.

Melco project managers worked closely with the client to monitor and report on project progress in respect of key deliverables and execute effective management of emergent works in order to ensure compatibility between the Melco project deliverables and the client’s project deliverables.

Various standards complied with throughout the execution included but was not limited to: AS1554.1, AS1554.5, AS4100, AS4600, client specifications and various surface treatment standards. Works completed for project execution included plate, pipe, structural and mechanical installations.

The Melco scope included fabrication, surface treatment and trial assembly of the newly designed elevators and walkways in conjunction with fabrication of the Stacker / Reclaimer components and encompassed 9,000 labour hours.
