Project Summary

Melco Engineering were engaged by Wilmar Sugar to undertake the supply, manufacture and installation of a newly designed replacement Air Heater Casing at the Plane Creek Sugar Mill.

The overall installation included grating and handrailing, access platforms and stairways, asbestos removal, cladding, casing panels, access doors, flexible seals.

Melco project managers worked closely with the client to monitor and report on project progress in respect of key deliverables and execute effective management of emergent works. This was completed whilst maintaining the integrity of the off-season period by completing works before the crushing season.

The Melco scope included design, fabrication, assembly, surface treatment, transport and site installation of the newly designed Air Heater Casing and encompassed 6,000 labour hours and over a six (6) month period.
